Item Description
15x20" artboard has original mixed media art depicting the main box lid art for 1960s Pyro Plastics "Table Top Navy" 1/1,200 Scale model kit No. C378-49, the British Royal Navy battleship HMS King George V, the lead ship of the five British King George V-class battleships of the Royal Navy. HMS King George V operated during World War II as part of the British Home and Pacific Fleets. Along w/HMS Rodney, King George V severely damaged the German battleship Bismarck which led to the German vessel sinking in May, 1941. Art shows the ship at sea, British Royal Navy standard flying. Art is signed by A.J. Rudisill, an internationally-acclaimed artist whose original acrylic paintings of landscapes and seascapes have been exhibited at major galleries throughout the country. Earlier in his career Rudisill provided stunning model kit box art, such as offered here. Art area measures 11.5x19". Ship's name is penciled at bottom right. Large model kit number in marker at lower left. Pinholes at corner and along top margin. Margins have some tape/tape residue, w/small spots of faint tape staining at top and bottom center of art, which does not distract greatly. Art is o/w Exc. and would look stunning framed. Impressive model kit art.
