He reported from the home front and both the European and Pacific Theatres. He was killed in combat on Iejima during the Battle of Okinawa in 1945. Book features illustrations by Carol Johnson. First blank page has been signed in black ink by Pyle, who inscribed book "To Jinky - From Ernie Pyle." Spine bears library number and shows some scattered edge/corner tip wear. VF overall.
