Item Description
Published in “St. Nicholas Magazine” Feb. 1875. Ornate archival mat contains highly detailed art w/4.75x6.75” India ink image area. Two women are seated at table w/one painting doll's head as the other files figure head. Lower right corner is signed in ink “Abbey 1874”. Minor aging, otherwise Exc. E. A. Abbey (1852-1911)) was an American painter and illustrator in the “Golden Age Of Illustration”, best known for Victorian and Shakespearean subjects; notably “The Quest of the Holy Grail”. Wonderful detail, ready to frame. From the Schechter Family collection.
