Item Description
15/16” with each candidate’s name and the date 1860 on each side. This piece differs from DeWitt #23 in that the outer edge is reeded rather than plain. The Breckinridge side has a couple of tiny emulsion bubbles at the very upper left but no chipping or scratching and portrait displays very clearly. The Lane image is somewhat dark with a pair of black hairlines in the emulsion that cross his face and in the area of his eyes there is loss of detail although the emulsion remains fully intact. The emulsion also has all over crazing but showing only with magnification and it remains complete. Ferrotypes for these candidates are scarce and overall this is a Fine example.
