c. 1980 published in “Dayton Daily News”. Duotone art board has 5.75x9.25” India ink and fiber tip pen image area w/hand lettered caption. Female circus performer in tights is telling clown “It’s Junior Again, He’s Run Off To Join The Morraine City Council…” Signed in ink “Mike Peters” at upper right. Exc. Mike Peters' friend Bill Mauldin helped him get a job at the Dayton Daily News and Peters went on to win the 1981 Pulitzer Prize for his editorial cartoons. He launched the “Mother Goose And Grimm” comic strip in 1984 and won the NCS Reuben Award in 1991. Superb example of his humorous style and editorial art. From the Schechter Family Collection.
