Item Description
Duotone art board has 6.5x11” India ink image area w/Israeli soldier/settler planting crops as Arabs fight behind “Lebanon” sign. Art is signed in ink “Auth The Philadelphia Inquirer” and signed again “Tony Auth” at lower right. Bottom of image area has two ballpoint pen signatures of politician, general, and 11th Prime Minister of Israel Ariel Sharon, one in English the other in Hebrew. Exc. William Anthony “Tony” Auth (1942-2014) won the 1976 Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartoons and the 2005 Herblock Prize. From the Schechter Family Collection.
