Item Description
5x7” card c. 1930s has India ink and gouache art of pig trotting into barn being scolded by chicken w/applied typewritten caption at bottom “Close The Door, You’d Think You Lived In A Barn”. Art is signed in ink “Mort Walker” at lower left. Reverse side has lead pencil name and address w/”No.8”. Lt. aging w/faint moisture mark at blank top margin. Image area will frame to Fine/VF appearance. Historic early example by the cartoonist who would create “Beetle Bailey” in 1950, “Hi and Lois” w/Dik Browne in 1954, and open the Museum of Cartoon Art in 1974.
