Item Description
6.5" tall cardboard canister w/tin bottom and cardboard lid. Container held 12 oz. "Bigger Hair" tobacco by B. Leidersdorf Co./The American Tobacco Co. c. 1926 as noted by tax label on lid (w/John Quincy Adams portrait). Canister features repeat front/back images of stereotypical image of "Fiji Islander," w/large hair, hoop earrings and hoop through nose. Scattered wear/aging w/fading and some small scattered moisture spots to lid edges. Tin bottom has some luster loss. Fine overall. Fred Hoffman Collection.
