Item Description
22x30.75" thin cardboard poster for Nov. 20, 1964 concert that took place at the National Guard Armory in Parole-Annapolis, MD. Presented by The Arundel Teen Club, concert features Baltimore "Sweet Soul" four-member female group that originally signed w/Philadelphia-based Chancellor Records and later w/Warner Bros. Records, but their biggest success came at MGM Records. They were associated w/producers Teddy Randazzo, writer-producer for Little Anthony & The Imperials in the 1960s, and Bill Medley of The Righteous Brothers. Poster text includes "You Asked For It...Here 'Tis - Fabulous - The Greatest Yet!" and "First Time In This Area - The Red Hot Royalettes - MGM Recorders Of 'He's Gone' - 'Don't You Cry'." Poster was printed by Globe Poster of Baltimore, MD. Concert also featured Bobby and The Martels and Caravans with Cathy. Bottom margin notes free Beatles "She's A Woman" and "I Feel Fine" as well as Beach Boys records. Corners and top margin have some scattered professional restoration w/thin cardboard reinforcements added to backs of corners. Still displays nicely and is Fine overall. Rare.
