Item Description
There were six different boxed balsa wood models issued by Buck Rogers Co. of Chicago, IL. in 1934. These were both sold in stores and offered as premiums. Offered here is single 3x7x2.5" deep nicely illustrated cardboard box w/"Super-Dreadnought" ship name stamped on front panel. Box includes illustrations of all six ships as well as Buck Rogers portrait on top panel. Box has even aging but remains clean and tight. Exc. overall and as nice as these come, complete w/original store price sticker. Box comes w/complete and unused parts - three balsa wood pieces for assembly of the ship model. One is 6" long main body section while the others are two different sized blocks. Four 2" tall original but generic glass vials w/cork stoppers that originally contained paint although this has hardened/dried out w/age. Comes w/sheet of sandpaper as issued w/each model. Parts are Exc. Also included in lot is 11x17" instruction sheet w/choice graphics on front showing six different rocketships that has illustrated instructions on reverse for building "Super-Dreadnought" model; instruction sheets were specific to models. Folded as issued, sheet has some bleed-through of red color onto back, but front remains nice for display. Scattered wear but would look great framed. These models are rare in any condition, let alone complete and in this high grade condition.
