12.5x18.25" mat w/8.5x11.25" opening features stunningly detailed crosshatched pen and ink art by noted sci-fi and fantasy artist Murray Tinkelman, depicting legendary Chicago White Sox outfielder Minnie Minoso. Tinkelman has won gold medals from the Society of Illustrators and he provided numerous book covers for paperback reprints of sci-fi and fantasy novels for Ballantine Books in the 1970s. Tinkelman held an exhibition in 1994 at The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY. and held another exhibition in 1995 at the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, AL. He was named Artist of the Year in 1970 by the Graphic Arts Guild and in 1995 he was named Sports Artist of the Year by the United States Sports Academy. Tinkelman's works have appeared in magazines and newspapers such as "Atlantic Monthly, The New York Times" and "The Washington Post."
