Pair of original glossy photos. First is 8x10" w/unusual image of Rube on a pony w/building in the bkg. What makes this really interesting is that fellow HOFer Christy Mathewson took the photo. Reverse has penciled text to this effect along w/printed American Press Assoc. text reading "This Photo Was Taken By Christy Mathewson Of The N.Y. Giants At Marlin Springs Texas." Originally obtained from the 1996 Christies photo archives auction w/their hologram sticker on the reverse. Dates to his days w/the Giants, 1908-1915, all as a teammate of Mathewson. Second photo is 6.5x10" w/full figure image of him warming up and wearing a Brooklyn Robins uniform. He played for them 1915-1920 and reverse has ink stamp text "Reference Dept. May 7, 1918 N.E.A." Tip off bottom right corner. Both have lt. handling wear but remain clean and glossy. Fine. Richard Merkin Collection and comes w/Hake's COA.
