Item Description
11.75x20.25" concert poster for 1991 tribute concert that took place at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit, MI. Poster design by Mark Arminski features stylized photo image of MC5 vocalist Rob Tyner (1944-1991, see biography in previous item #2830) holding samurai sword. Photo was taken by Arminski. Poster notes "Grande Ballroom 25th Anniversary - 1966-1991" and features "Thanks Rob" text at bottom. 2016 marks Grande Ballroom's 50th Anniversary. Bottom of poster features lyrics from "Grande Days" song. Signed by Arminski at bottom right in black felt tip pen. Exc. Comes w/16-5/8x25" mat containing Arminski's original art for this poster, w/Xeroxed copy of photo of Tyner applied at center. All text and designs were hand-inked by Arminski and feature stunning levels of detail. Stars at top and "Anniversary" text have Zipatone accents and bottom center has paste-over of lyrics. Art directly above this has some noticeable aging but poster is o/w clean. 12-5/8x21.75" sheet of artpaper art appears on has been mounted to foamcore which has mat attached at top w/tape. Sheet shows some scattered handling wear w/some rippling along right margin and .75" tear jest below center at left. Fine overall, but if framed would make for nice display as matted and would look great framed beside poster. Mark Arminski Archives and comes with a COA specially designed, signed and remarqued by him.
