Item Description
Pair of 13.25x19-7/8" thin artboards contain original art for pages 1 and 3 of "The Star Brand" #15, published by Marvel Comics in Sept. 1988. Art by John Byrne has been inked by Tom Morgan for "Let There Be Life" story by John Byrne. Byrne is a comic-book writer and artist who has worked on many major superheroes since the mid-1970s. Byrne's better known work has been on Marvel Comics' "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four" and the 1986 relaunch of DC Comics' "Superman" franchise. First page is splash page featuring hand-lettered "Let There Be Life" story title over image of frightened-looking slimy alien creature trudging through rainstorm only to be spotted by men w/binoculars. 2x4" paste-over at lower left w/original art. Page three features four panels, showing creature advancing towards soldiers, one w/bazooka. Told to fire the bazooka by his fellow soldier, he cannot as the ground shifts and comes alive w/tendrils. Last panel reveals control listening to the sounds of the soldiers' deaths. Bottom center of each has been signed in black felt tip pen by Morgan. Large title in black marker at top/bottom of each artboard, each w/number of pinholes along margins. Artboard margins have some handling wear/aging and are VF overall w/art remaining clean and Exc.
