Item Description
3.25x5.5" generic postcard postmarked 8/16/47 with the reverse signed in ink "Best Wishes Hank Greenberg". Hank Greenberg was a MLB player, executive, and owner. His playing career spanned from 1930-1947, primarily with the Detroit Tigers but with one year with the Pittsburgh Pirates (1947). There was a halt in his playing career when he enlisted in the military during World War II and served a total of 47 months, more than any other player. Greenberg was also a part owner on different occasions of the Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians, He was inducted into the Baseball HOF in 1956. This postcard shows scattered light wear and aging. VF-Exc. From the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with JSA COA and Hake's COA.
