Item Description
3.25x5.5" generic postcard postmarked July 4, 1948 with sender's address in ink on obverse and "Best regards, Vic Raschi" signed in ink on reverse. Vic Raschi was a MLB pitcher who played for the New York Yankees in the late 1940s and early 1950s, forming (with Allie Reynolds and Eddie Lopat) the "Big Three" of the Yankees' pitching staff. Later in his career, as a pitcher with the St. Louis Cardinals, he was responsible for allowing Hank Aaron's first career home run. He was a six time World Series Champion with the Yankees (1947, 1949-53). This postcard shows scattered light wear and aging. VF-Exc.
