Item Description
12.25x24" thin sheet of paper has original mixed media prototype original art for sign promoting 1950s Post cereal premium - "Metal 'Space Man' Buttons" - showing children in spacesuits and space helmets, pointing to the many buttons on their suits. "Post's" cereal box image at right opens, revealing an explosion of many button designs, showing "Space Ship" rocket, the planet Earth, two different space men designs, satellite, etc.; some showing more realized designs than others. Hand-lettered text notes - "24 Different Buttons In The Series!" as well as "No Money! No Box Tops! One In Every Package Of Post's..." Upper left has large "Free Of Extra Cost" notation. Art has a three notable vertical creases, but these do not detract greatly. Upper right has tiny corner tip off. VF overall. Unique. Incredible item for space and button collectors.
