Item Description
Lot of four pieces of mixed media original art measuring between 1.75x3.75" and 2.5x5-3/8" for celebrity-endorsed smoking novelty toy concept. 1950s. The novelty toy was to features cardboard depictions of famous star w/tiny hole at mouth for insertion of tiny included "cigarettes." Lot offered here includes two different pieces for Steve Allen, noting him as "Star Of Old Gold's Great New T.V. Show 'Judge For Yourself." Art designed like a TV set w/image of Allen on "screen" has small spot of discoloration from burning "cigarette." Another piece features unidentified man and woman w/pack of "Old Gold" cigarettes over applied clipping of sports stadium. These three each come w/glassine envelopes (w/prototype text design on exterior) w/instructions for use, one containing a number of small "cigarettes." Scattered lt. aging/handling wear, but VF overall. Lot also includes two-sided novelty featuring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz (and comes w/2 stats). Scattered wear along fold line as designed, but clean and VF overall. Unique. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
