Item Description
12.5x15.25" sheet of onionskin paper has pencil original art for display promoting Post Raisin Bran cereal premium ring set featuring comic characters. Art dates to late 1940s and ring set was produced in 1948. Art shows hand, w/each finger wearing ring w/hand-lettered text in pencil reading "Get Your Colorful Metal Comic Ring - In This Package OF Post's Raisin Bran" and noting "You Can Get 12 Different Comic Rings." Vertical crease w/a number of horizontal creases at center and aging along vertical crease. Slight trim at top margin. VG/Fine. 12x15" artboard has acrylic original art showing six different metal band rings (for a set that was never produced), each featuring an athlete. Art dates to late 1940s. Personalities include - MLB players Andy Pafko (Chicago Cubs), Ralph Branco (Dodgers), Phil Cavarretta (Chicago Cubs), University of Michigan football coach Fritz Crisler, basketball player Bunny Levitt and swimmer Nancy Stilley.  Art has pinholes at top corners and has been covered in cellophane to protect art. Splits at corners. Margin aging as art was once matted/framed. Fine overall w/art remaining clean and Exc. A very unique lot for ring and sports collectors.
