Item Description
Vintage 4x6" Type 1 photo shows MLB player Ted Lyons (1900-1986), who was a starting pitcher, manager and coach in MLB, playing 21 seasons w/the Chicago White Sox. He is the franchise leader in wins, winning 20 or more games three times (in 1925, 1927, and 1930). Lyons was inducted into the Baseball HOF in 1955. Photo shows him posing w/bat in White Sox uniform and has been signed in blue ink, Lyons adding "Every Good Wish To Richard Portofel" inscription. Back has stamped information including Lyon's name and "Geo. Burke" stamped name/address of famous sports photographer whose work included many of the images used to make the 1933-1935 Goudey baseball cards. Photo has some minor corner foxing and strip of tape staining along back side margin and some handling wear w/creases along left margin. Photo o/w displays VF. Comes with Hake's COA and PSA/DNA LOAs and JSA COA.
