Item Description
Lot of prototypes for proposed 1940s premium featuring Don Winslow. 16x20" vellum sheet glued to artboard w/mixed media original art for "17 Inch Scale Model Destroyer" premium features small portrait, which though character is unnamed, is clearly Don Winslow. Art shows hand holding the Destroyer model w/non-descript product box at lower right. Hand-lettered text reads "Free - Build Your Own" and "Get This With The Purchase Of" w/large arrow pointing to product box and unused pricing circle. Vertical crease at center. Artboard has moderate dust soiling w/scattered corner tip/margin wear including 1.75" tear along upper left. Fine overall. Comes w/pair of 19" long prototype flats. One has "USS Farragut -190" hand-lettered name on stern w/large "190" ship number on both sides of bow. Other ship features no name/number. These come w/22 parts for assembling control tower, tower mast, funnels, gun turrets, etc. for one ship. All feature mixed media original art w/airbrushed detailing. Extremely nice paint job. Some lt. wear here and there to assembly tabs, but parts are Exc. overall. Extensive and unique lot. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
