Item Description
10x17" sheet of paper has mixed media original art for proposed premium sign advertising "Captain Video Ranger Club" prize in boxes of Post's cereals. This 1950s prototype sign includes nondescript image of Post's cereal box at lower right w/various nondescript premium images, including some labeled "Model Rocket, Video Mask, Action Picture, Cockpit Dial," etc. Hand-lettered text between portrait images of Captain Video and boy reads "Boys! Girls! Become Captain Video Rangers - Join Now! A Captain Video Ranger Club Prize In Every Package Of Post's Cereals." Text also notes 12 different premiums. As top sheet was glued to artboard, there is some margin wear, especially along upper left and at top left corner. Scattered handling wear/aging. Fine overall. A very unique piece for the Captain Video collector. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
