Item Description
8x8x9.5" cardboard box contains very detailed plastic helmet and space-themed "glasses" by Banner Plastics Corp. 1950s. Helmet and glasses come w/original illustrated die-cut cardboard insert that is illustrated to look like a head which helmet and glasses rest on. Box features great illustrations of items within being worn by child w/various outer space images in bkg. Box lid has "Space Map Of Major Planets" feature. Box has moderate but even aging and scattered edge/corner creasing. 1" tear to top flap. Fine overall. Helmet itself has translucent plastic accents at ears and same translucent plastic is used for spaceship attachment on top of helmet. Original elastic chin strap is present. Great 1950s space design and rare as complete w/both box and special insert.
