Item Description
Die-cut stiff paper promotional hanger and thin cardboard card issued by movie theaters during original release of 1933 Joe E. Brown comedies "Son Of A Sailor" and "Elmer, The Great." 5-5/8x10.75" hanger for "Son Of A Sailor" features Brown caricature at top, his comically large mouth serving as hanger hole. Bottom has Paramount Theatre imprint. Some lt. scattered edge wear along bottom left. 3-5/8x3-7/8" card for baseball comedy "Elmer, The Great" is designed like catcher's mitt and has small portrait of Brown w/"A Batty Comedy Of Baseball And Blondes" tagline. Capitol Theatre imprint at bottom. Both have glue staining w/paper residue on backs as once mounted, but this does not affect fronts' display, which remains Exc. Both are rare and first we've offered in our 52 years. Both are the actual examples shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA.
