Item Description
Original box w/nicely illustrated lid contains 8.5" tall mostly painted tin robot w/attached remote control battery box. Made in Japan by Nomura Toys, 1950s. Box is complete w/die-cut cardboard insert. Lid has one corner split and 1/8" puncture to main lid panel w/some edge creasing. Fine overall. This toy came in several color varieties, this is silver body and maroon arms/legs version w/red chest plate and plastic head dome covering pistons. Dome has one .5" stressline at bottom front center. Manually adjustable arms have exact replacement rubber hands. Remote's battery box is clean and one broken contact has been professionally replaced. Toy works well, walking forward as pistons move and light up. Body of toy has some lt. scattered aging/wear. Fine overall. Nice robot obviously inspired by Robby the Robot from "Forbidden Planet."
