Item Description
3.25x5.25" c. 1909 vintage matte postcard depicts 12 ballplayers standing in front of the stadium seats. The Wausau team was a member of the Class D - Minnesota-Wisconsin League during the 1909 baseball season, finishing with a record of 54-66, good for a fifth place finish in the six team league. Future Major Leaguers playing for the team included player/manager Jack McCarthy and first baseman Biddy Dolan. Divided postcard back includes a message in pencil along with mailing address, postmarked July 30, 1909 and cancelled one cent stamp. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
