Item Description
3.5x5.5" vintage glossy postcard depicting the Class AA Eastern League champions for the 1909 baseball season, the Rochester Hustlers. Thirteen members of the ball club are pictured standing while another 5 individuals are seated on a bench, all posed in front of stadium seating. Photographer's stamp in the lower left-hand corner indicates "A.P.S. Co." Rochester finished the 1909 season with a league best 90-61 record, producing an astonishing total of 21 out of the 22 players going on to play in the Major Leagues. Amongst the team's biggest stars were John Ganzel and Emil Batch. Clarity of the image is excellent, pinholes have been made through all four corners for hanging purposes, with divided back, which has been postally used with a date stamp of January 20, 1910. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
