Item Description
4x5" vintage glossy photo depicting noted Cuban, Mexican & Negro League baseball star, Pedro Formental during the middle of his ten year playing career with Habana of the Cuban League from 1945-55. Formental also starred as a top flight outfielder, with home run power and excellent speed, for the Negro League's Memphis Red Sox from 1947-50. While compiling a lifetime batting average of .274 over 13 seasons in Cuba, Formental also garnered the single season RBI record of 57 for Habana during the 1952-53 winter league season. Back of photo indicates the player and team identification. Exc. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
