Item Description
3.5x5.5" vintage matte postcard picturing Mexican/Negro League great, Pedro Formental during his rookie professional baseball season of 1943. Formental spent his first few summers playing in Mexico, initially with the Alijadores de Tampico club in 1943 followed by stints with Azules de Veracruz in 1944-45 and then Tuneros de San Luis in 1946. During the winter season, Formental also kept busy, playing for the Habana ball club from 1945-55. In addition, Formental was one of the key players for the Negro League's Memphis Red Sox from 1947-49. Divided postcard back is unused and printed in both English and Spanish. Exc.
