Item Description
3.5x5.5" vintage matte postcard depicting 17 ballplayers in full uniform along with their manager Bill Armour, and batboy. The 1907 Toledo ball club played in the Class AA American Association and finished in second place with a record of 88-65. Fifteen members of the team would go on to play in the Major Leagues: Fred Abbott, Harry Armbruster, Jap Barbeau, Charlie Chech, Boileryard Clarke, Josh Clarke, Gene DeMontreville, Ernie Diehl, Harry Fells, Grover Land, Bill Lattimore, George Perring, Homer Smoot, Jack Sutthoff and Hi West. All players pictured have been identified in the bottom margin. Back of the postcard is divided and includes a signature but has not been mailed. Postcard exhibits moderate, even corner wear along with a stray line in the upper left-hand corner on the front, back exhibits minor foxing in a couple of spots. Fine.
