Item Description
3.5x5.5" vintage matte postcard depicting 10 ballplayers in full uniform posing in line on a grass field. Back indicates that this postcard was produced by Cross Printing Co., Chicago. Bloomer Girls teams were very common during the era and rarely played each other but, instead, barnstormed across their region of the country, taking on all comers. Despite the team name, all of these teams included both genders, with at least one male ball player per team present. This edition pictured here originated from the city of Indianapolis, IN. Postcard exhibits moderate, even corner wear along with several minor creases around the periphery. Back is divided and remains unused. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
