Item Description
3-3/8x5.5" vintage matte postcard depicting 18 ballplayers in full uniform along with a gentleman in formal attire in a studio setting. Identifications for all of the individuals pictured are printed at the bottom of the photo along with "Denver Base Ball Club - 1913 - Western League". The 1913 Bears finished in first place in the Class A Western League with a record of 104-62 under manager Jack Hendricks. A total of ten team members would go on to play Major League Baseball, including: Hank Butcher, Harry Cassady, Les Channell, Jack Coffey, Charlie French, Casey Hageman, Ben Harris, Lee Quillin, Barney Schreiber and Mellie Wolfgang. Postcard back is divided and unused. VF/Exc. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
