Item Description
6.5x8-5/8" original glossy photo depicting Cuban pitching great, Adolfo Luque during the midst of his career peak pitching for the Cincinnati Reds during the 1920s. Back of photo includes a handwritten note indicating that this is a Conlon photo, referring to world renowned photographer, Charles Conlon. Adolfo would go on to compile a career won-loss record of 194-179 over his 20 year MLB career. In addition, Luque also played numerous winter league seasons in his native Cuba, winning countless more ball games there. Front of photo includes an outline of Luque in grease pencil, back has a number of photographer's notes along with a 1996 Christie's sticker indicating that this is an original Baseball Magazine photograph. Bottom right-hand corner has a very small chip of paper missing along with four pinholes along the left border. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
