Item Description
8x10-1/8" original glossy photo depicting New York Giants Hall of Fame manager, John McGraw along with Democratic candidate, Judge John F. Hylan just prior to the deciding game of the 1917 World Series between the Chicago White Sox and New York Giants. Back of photo includes paper caption giving photographer's credit to International Film Service. This crystal clear image originates from the famed estate of George "Highpockets" Kelly. McGraw managed the ball club for 30 seasons, retiring after the 1932 campaign and finishing with a career won-loss record of 2,763 - 1,948 and was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937. Photo has two minute chips missing from the upper right and lower left corners along with another minor chip along the right edge. Back of photo exhibits foxing in a few spots. VG. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
