Item Description
6.25x9.5" original glossy photo picturing the team bus used to transport the world renowned barnstorming black baseball team, the Indianaplois Clowns throughout the 1940s. Syd Pollock was instrumental in promoting and popularizing the Clowns and developed them into a nationally-known combination of show business and baseball that earned them the designation as the "Harlem Globetrotters" of baseball. The most noteworthy ballplayer to ever play for the Clowns was future HOF'er, Henry "Hank" Aaron, playing there for one season in 1952 before joining the MLB Braves during the 1954 season. Image clarity is fantastic on this photo, which presents nicely despite numerous surface wrinkles and creases. Back of photo exhibits staining throughout. VG. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
