Item Description
4.75x6.75" matte paper premium depicting former Negro League baseball great, Booker T. McDaniels during his second season with the Los Angeles Angels (PCL) ball club. McDaniels began his professional career with the Kansas City Monarchs in 1940, posting records of 3-0, 7-0 and 10-1 between 1941-43. In 1946, Booker jumped to the Mexican League, where he would play for San Luis, Vera Cruz and Mexico City. Returning to the Monarchs in 1949, McDaniels posted a 4-2 record with a 2.62 ERA. At age 38, Booker would join the Los Angeles Angels of the Pacific Coast League, becoming the league's first black ballplayer. Although at the end of his career at this point, McDaniels would still post respectable numbers of 8-9 and 3-4 during those final two seasons. There are no condition issues to note for this premium.
