Item Description
3.5x5-3/8" vintage matte postcard depicting 15 team members in full uniform standing/seated in front of stadium seating. Front's bottom left corner indicates printing by L.B. Herr. The Red Roses ball club finished the 1906 season w/a record of 70-57, good for a third place finish in the Independent Tri-State League under Manager Fred Crolius. A staggering total of 23 ballplayers from this team would go on to play MLB, including - Chief Meyers, Patsy Dougherty, Cy Barger, Dave Altizer, Tom Downey, Pop Foster, Ed Lennox, Bert Daniels, Bull Durham and Doc Reisling. Postcard exhibits moderate creasing and surface wrinkles along w/moderate, even corner wear. Postcard back is undivided and remains blank and unused. VG.
