Item Description
3.5x5.5" vintage silver gelatin postcard depicts 19 team members in full uniform posing in front of stadium seating. Pair of players kneeling in the center hold banner reading "Hustlers - 1910." The 1910 Rochester Hustlers were the champions of the Class A - Eastern League w/a won-loss record of 92-61. Amazingly, every man on the team's roster would go on to play MLB. Among the most notable names on this club were - John Ganzel, Whitey Alpermann, Emil Batch, Walter Blair, Ed LaFitte, George McConnell, Danny Moeller, Herbie Moran and Pat Ragan. Postcard exhibits moderate, even corner wear w/the upper left having 1/8" corner clip. Some lt. soiling visible at left. Divided back has been postally used w/Sept. 28, 1910 cancellation date. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
