Item Description
3.5x5.5" vintage matte postcard depicts 14 ballplayers along w/three gentlemen in formal attire posed on ballfield in front of stadium seating. Production credit on back reads "E.B. Williamson, South Bend, Indiana." The 1906 Grand Rapids ball club finished in first place in the Class B - Central League w/a record of 99-52 under manager John Ganzel. A total of 12 team members would go on to play in the Major Leagues, most notably - John Ganzel, Ed Summers and Bill Grahame. Postcard exhibits creasing and surface wrinkles across the center w/lt., even corner wear. Undivided back remains blank and unused. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
