Item Description
3-3/8x5.5" vintage silver gelatin postcard depicts different scenes related to Puerto Rican baseball. "J. Porsugusto" photographer credit at bottom. "Sep. 30, 1929" date printed at center of postcard. AZO stamp box on back dates postcard to the 1924-49 time period, consistent w/the subject matter. Upper left pictures a boys' musical band. Upper right corner exhibits a Manati Stadium image w/crowd. Main image at left is of Hispanic ballplayer surrounded by insets of 13 other Hispanic ballplayers, most of whom have names alongside their faces - Miediti, Pendiciti, Cocoricamo, Cuentiti, Ponchaiti, Cobarpiti and Hiliti. Image of a lion at bottom center, w/"Leon Manati" name printed on side. Lower right features ballplayer's face w/"Mirael Coco" name. Divided postcard back remains blank and unused w/just a couple of lt. stray marks visible. VF. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
