3.5x5.5" vintage linen postcard w/deckled edge depicts Joe DiMaggio's Restaurant along w/inset images of DiMaggio along w/his baseball playing brothers, Vincent and Dominic DiMaggio. "Genuine Curteich - Chicago "C.T. Photo Colorit" production credit on back. The world famous Joe DiMaggio's Restaurant was located at 205-11 Jefferson St. on Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, CA. DiMaggio and his two brothers could often be found there mingling w/customers during the offseasons. DiMaggio was one of baseball's all-time greats, finish w/a career batting average of .325 along w/361 home runs and 1,537 RBIs despite missing three seasons during the prime of his career due to non-combat service during World War II. These postcards were given out as souvenirs from the restaurant throughout the 1940s. Postcard has been postally used w/neatly handwritten message in ink on back and Sept. 7, 1947 cancellation date stamp. Exc. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
