Item Description
4.75x6-7/8" vintage glossy photo depicts three ballplayers from Mexican League power, Alijadores de Tampico posed on ballfield. Standing prominently at center is Cuban baseball great, Pedro Formental. We have not been able to identify the other two individuals, but they would be part of the 1943 team roster. Formental spent 13 seasons playing professional baseball, including stints w/Azules de Veracruz, Habana and the NL Memphis Red Sox. Image quality of the photo is superb. Two tiny holes at upper right. A few minor surface wrinkles are visible and all four corners show paper loss at the tips and upper right corner has a small chip missing. Back of photo is blank and exhibits staining/foxing. VG. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
