Item Description
6.5x8.5" vintage matte photo depicting Baseball HOF great Joe McGinnity very late in his professional baseball career, playing for the Dubuque Climbers of the Mississippi Valley League in 1923. Photo credit stamp on back reads "Pacific & Atlantic Photos, Inc." McGinnity spent the first decade of the 20th Century pitching for Brooklyn, Baltimore and New York Giants, finishing w/a final MLB record of 246-142, w/an ERA of 2.66 and 1,068 career strikeouts. Selected for Baseball HOF in 1946. Image quality of this photo is excellent, front of photo is very clean w/just a .25" clipped upper right-hand corner. Back exhibits foxing around the edges and some residue of paper caption removal at the bottom. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
