Item Description
Vintage 2-3/8x3-3/8" glossy deckled-edge snapshot photo depicts total of eight men in formal attire. Although no baseball uniforms or equipment are pictured here, this photograph was found inside an envelope containing several photos/postcards depicting members of the 1937 Aguilas de Vera Cruz (Mexico) baseball team. Due to the extremely small image size, positive identification of individuals is very difficult. We believe that standing second, third and fourth from right are - Silvio Garcia, Manuel "Cocaina" Garcia and Pedro Formental. "Guherzs, S.A. - Vera Cruz" photographer's stamp on back. Baseball HOF great Martin Dihigo spent the entire 1937 season w/Vera Cruz but we have not been able to identify him here. Several surface wrinkles/creases are visible along w/scattered moisture staining. Back has glue staining as once mounted. Good/VG overall. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
