Item Description
3-3/8x5.5" vintage matte card depicts 15 ballplayers in full uniform along w/man in civilian clothes and batboy posed in front of stadium seating. "Springfield Indians, 1937" printed at bottom of photo. The Springfield ball club played in the Class C - Middle Atlantic League for just three seasons from 1937-39 as an affiliate of the AL's Cleveland Indians. A total of 11 ballplayers would go on to play in the Major Leagues from this team, including notables - Phil Masi, Chuck Workman and George Binks. Back of card is blank and card exhibits scattered lt. staining/foxing w/corner wear. VG. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
