Item Description
3x5" vintage notecard signed by Pittsburgh Pirates pitching great, Charles "Babe" Adams. Adams began his Major League career w/the St. Louis Cardinals in 1906, where he would only pitch in one game before moving to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1907, where he would remain until retiring in 1926. Babe finished w/a career record of 194-40 along w/an ERA of 2.76 and 1,036 strikeouts. Known for his outstanding control, Adams' career walk ratio of 1.29 per 9 innings was the second lowest of the 20th century. Notecard shows scattered insect damage to surface, including 1/8" hole at top and corners show moderate wear. Signature remains clear and legible, signed boldly in period ink, w/just tiny spot affected by insect damage. VG. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA and JSA COA.
