Item Description
See #708 for details.  Rare. To the best of our knowledge, this button has only been offered individually once before at public auction. "Rabbit" Maranville began his Hall of Fame career with the Boston Braves in 1912 and would spend the next nine seasons with them before moving on to Pittsburgh in 1921 for the next four years. Over the next few seasons, Maranville would move around quite a bit, going from Chicago to Brooklyn to St. Louis and finally back to the Braves again in 1929 before retiring in 1933 and was ultimately elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY in 1954. Outer edge has very light age marks at 2, 5, 7, 10, and 11 o'clock. Cello surface has about 10 very small raised bumps which can be felt but hardly seen. Full color and gloss remains. Fine. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
