Item Description
See #708 for details. Rare.  Butch Schmidt was another very interesting selection for this series of buttons as he only played two full seasons of Major League baseball, with his career beginning in 1909 in which he played one game for the New York Yankees. Schmidt would resurface again in 1913 with the Boston Braves and would remain there through the 1915 season, his final year in the Majors. Very slight age marks around the collet on the reverse. The front has widely scattered age stain around the outer edge, most noticeable at top. About four small raised surface bumps can be felt on the celluloid but barely seen. Full color and gloss. Fine. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
