Item Description
3.5x5.5" vintage matte colorized postcard depicting 12 ballplayers in full uniform along with a team mascot posed on a ballfield. Publisher's credit on back reads "Rollins & Hardison, Lookout Mountain, Tenn." This 1909 Chattanooga Lookouts club represents the inaugural season in the franchise's history, as a member of the Class C - South Atlantic League. This team boasted eight future MLB ballplayers, including John Dobbs. Some red staining is present in the upper left-hand corner of the photo along with a few surface wrinkles visible near the right edge. Divided postcard back remains blank and unused, some lt. foxing is present in a few spots. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
