Item Description
3.5x5.5" vintage matte postcard depicting 16 ballplayers in full uniform posed in front of a wooden fence with period baseball equipment in the foreground. Printed notation at bottom of postcard reads "Saginaw Base Ball Team, Southern Michigan League". Hand printed note reads "Pennant Winners, 1909". The 1909 Saginaw ball club won the Class D Southern Michigan League title with a final record of 73-52. A total of five team members would go on to play in the Major Leagues, although none would make a significant impact. Postcard exhibits lt. even corner wear, divided postcard back has been postally cancelled with a date of Sept. 15, 1909. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
